This 11-year-old boy complained of a chronic pruritic rash on the right cheek and ear. The lesions improved temporarily with topical steroids but recurred as soon as the medication was discontinued. A potassium hydroxide preparation showed septate branching hyphae. He was subsequently treated with a topical antifungal cream with clearing after 2 weeks.
