This adolescent boy complained of chronic and recurrent scaly white spots on his trunk for years. The scaling cleared with topical selenium sulfide lotion but the pigment took 4 months to recover. His father and several of his siblings also had tinea versicolor

diffuse symmetric discrete and confluent truncal hypopigmented 0.5-1.0 cm minmally scaly patches
