This healthy 10-year-old boy had an 8 year history of a patch of hair loss on the left anterior temporal scalp. Examination revealed a few fine vellus hairs in the patch which was otherwise normal. Although triangular alopecia may be congenital, many cases develop between 1-6 years of age.
