This 28 year old man with tuberous sclerosis was evaluated for carbon dioxide laser ablation of the angiofibromas on his face. He had several congenital hypopigmented macules on the lower abdomen and thighs, a congenital shagreen patch on the upper chest, and several subungual fibromas that developed during adolescence. The subungual fibromas were occasionally painful and caused dystrophic nail changes.
