A healthy 17 year old girl complained of diffuse truncal reddish brown scaly papules present for several years. In the summer they tended to be light in color but in winter they had a brown color. Although the rash was not sympromatic, she was embarrassed by the appearance. Potassium hydroxide preparation showed the pseudohyphae and spores typical of tinea versicolor.
