This healthy 12-year-old girl had difficult to comb hair since birth. Her father, paternal uncle, and paternal grandmother had similar hair findings. Routine microscopic examination and polaroscopy failed to reveal any stuctural anomalies of the hair shaft, but additional examinations of the hair shaft are planned.
