This healthy toddler developed transient diarrhea and fever followed several days later by itchy edematous papules and plaques which waxed and waned for a week. She was on no medications and had no underlying medical problems. The presence of urticaria in the context of a self-limited viral infection is referred to as urticaria multiforme.
