A healthy toddler, who was exposed to an older sibling with chicken pox at 6 months of age, developed asymptomatic to minimally itchy grouped vesicles on the right side of the scalp. A Tzanck showed multinucleated giant cells, and a culture for Herpes simplex virus was negative. The eruption was completely crusted over without treatment within 10 days.
